چکیده

Wc describe a hybrid system to model context formulation and resulting expectations created by a listener while attending to tonal music. The model is hybrid in that we use modular sub-networks to simulate the distinct yet mutually influential schemas involved in constructing expectations for sequential events and the temporal cyclical grid that creates metrical support for these expectations. Using a unified neurosymbolic approach wc visualize the fluctuations of musical expectations that arise as a consequence of the dynamically changing musical context.

A Computational Model of Meter Cognition During the Audition of Functional Tonal Music: Modeling A-Priori Bbias in Meter Cognition

We describe a series of experiments using sequential neural networks to model the effect of contextual bias in music cognition. The model quantifies the strength and specificity of a virtual listener’s expectations while listening to functional tonal harmonic chord sequences. The network integrates pools of duple and triple metric units with pitch class representations of chords. The ’listener’...

Chaotic Analysis and Prediction of River Flows

Analyses and investigations on river flow behavior are major issues in design, operation and studies related to water engineering. Thus, recently the application of chaos theory and new techniques, such as chaos theory, has been considered in hydrology and water resources due to relevant innovations and ability. This paper compares the performance of chaos theory with Anfis model and discusses ...

Influence of heat generation on the phase transformations and impact responses of composite plates with embedded SMA wires

In the present research, in contrast to the available papers, not only the superelasticity but also the shape memory effects are taken into account in determination of the impact responses. At the same time, in addition to modifying Brinson’s model for the shape memory alloys (SMAs), to include new parameters and loading events, and Hertz contact law, distributions of the SMA phases are conside...

Prediction of fragmentation due to blasting using mutual information and rock engineering system; case study: Meydook copper mine

One of the key outcomes of blasting in mines is found to be rock fragmentation which profoundly affects downstream expenses. In fact, size prediction of rock fragmentation is the first leap towards the optimization of blasting design parameters. This paper makes an attempt to present a model to predict rock fragmentation using Mutual Information (MI) in Meydook copper mine. Ten parameters are c...

From Bach to the Beatles: The Simulation of Human Tonal Expectation Using Ecologically-Trained Predictive Models

Tonal structure is in part conveyed by statistical regularities between musical events, and research has shown that computational models reflect tonal structure in music by capturing these regularities in schematic constructs like pitch histograms. Of the few studies that model the acquisition of perceptual learning from musical data, most have employed self-organizing models that learn a topol...
